NPP Newsletter: Pulitzer Prize-winning author argues for nuclear energy

Hello everyone-

We hope you are enjoying the summer. As the second heat wave of the season gripped our Commonwealth last week, our nuclear energy plants continued to reliably produce clean energy, allowing our air conditioners to help keep us cool in the oppressive heat.

At Nuclear Powers Pennsylvania, we continue to educate Pennsylvanians about the many benefits of nuclear energy. To that end, we wanted to make sure you saw a remarkably powerful essay recently written by Richard Rhodes, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Energy: A Human History. We encourage you to read and share Rhodes’ compelling piece entitled “Why Nuclear Power Must Be Part of the Energy Solution.”

Rhodes understands that, like all energy sources, nuclear power has advantages and disadvantages, but states, “nuclear power can be, and should be, one major component of our rescue from a hotter, more meteorologically destructive world.”

We thank them for their support of nuclear energy in PA!
