Once a Harsh Critic, Reid wants TMI to Stay

Had TMI’s parent company announced it was closing the plant closer to the time of the 1979 accident, Robert Reid — Middletown’s mayor at the time — would have been all for the plant going away.

But that had to do with how TMI was being run at the time by Met-Ed and GPU. They are no longer in charge, and the former long-time mayor and current borough councilor now counts himself among those fighting to keep TMI in business…
